The OpenSpaceQuartet is a freely improvising consortium and was founded in 2014 (stardate -309000) on the occasion of the successful reanimation of a Bechstein Grand Piano with the serial number 141111 (stardate -387000) in Zurich.
The actual Spacemen are all academically preloaded and had to fight hard to find their way back to their musical roots through annual reports, balance sheets and organization charts. Mostly, the quartet plays as a trio (with the audience as a 4th group member).
The quartet is based on Harrison Owen’s Open Space method, which says that it is better to be silent if you have nothing to say (or was it Ludwig Wittgenstein?). Listen below!
